WARREN’S POINT
Little Compton, RI
Previously an open field for harvesting hay, the property is transformed to a family compound. The main house is a linear structure with decks and a pool on the east side to take advantage of the views of the pond, meadow, and crashing waves of Warren’s Point beach beyond. A meandering path through the meadow leads to a private beach.
A live roof of sedum sits atop the second floor of the home which blends the architecture into the surrounding formerly-agricultural landscape.
A private patio on the west side of the home lies nestled in perennial plantings of ferns, hellebores, and lavender. It both connects the pool house and the main house and creates a protected area for the stone fireplace, creating an area to enjoy the sunset.
The plantings along the coastal side of the home are an extension of the surrounding meadows, and therfore are tolerant of the harsh coastal conditions While also provide habitats for birds and small animals.
