SAKONNET COve

MIDDLETOWN, RHODE ISLAND

This south-facing home takes advantage of the light and stunning view of Sakonnet River and distant Atlantic Ocean. The main living spaces open to the glass pool, screened porch, decks, and terraces.

The material palette of reclaimed granite and weathered steel components are complementary to the landscape and the Accoya siding of the house and guest house.

The lower level support spaces and guest rooms have water views to the north east and access to terraces and the plunge pool.

The plant material is limited using large swaths of grasses, ferns, and native shrubs. Native Oaks, Red maples, Tupelo, and Sweetly Magnolia are planted along the driveway and north property lines.

The guest house is nestled under the preserved oak trees with water views. The tiered landscape is planted with coastal plants and native ground covers.
